Peter Schreyer

And The Present

As Kia Motors Corporation’s Chief Design Officer, Peter oversees all domestic and international design activities at the company’s regional design centers in Los Angeles, Frankfurt, and the Namyang Design Center in Korea. His goal? To implement a more unified Kia design theme, and create a family look for the Kia brand, which is a vital part of Kia’s bold new philosophy.

Shaping an entirely new line of cars is a challenging project, but Peter’s track record proves that he’s up to the task. “I’m looking forward to an unbelievably exciting and many-faceted challenge ahead of me. Kia already has a reputation for successful, reliable products with solid designs. That makes for loyal customers. So while others are treading water, Kia is making tremendous headway,” Schreyer said.

Schreyer will also play a major role in pushing the company forward. Peter will create a consistent and cohesive future face for the Kia brand through its entire range of models, changing the brand’s image around the world. As the man himself has said, “Good design not only transmits clear messages through the products, but also solidifies the overall company image.” Translation: Peter’s cutting edge designs will change the way people look at Kia.

EuiSun Chung, President and CEO of Kia, is excited that Mr. Schreyer has joined Kia, commenting, “As we continue to develop the Kia brand, we must continually enhance our vehicles through world class, innovative advances in product design. Mr. Schreyer’s appointment underlines our commitment to not only meeting but exceeding customers’ expectations.

“Mr. Schreyer’s track record speaks for itself. We are looking forward to laying out a long-term strategy that will center on molding a unique and consistent design lineage for the entire future Kia lineup. We are focused on boosting our competitiveness and image by dramatically upgrading the design element, while adding a strong emotional dimension to the brand.” That “strong emotional dimension,” as Mr. Chung so eloquently puts it? That’s passion.
